Vancouver/Portland Trip!!!

So about 2 months ago my brother-in-law Scott decided that he wanted to do a huge Birthday surprise for my sister Anna's 30th B-day. He wanted to fly Carson & me out and totally surprise her! About a week before I was to leave we decided to make it a family vacation and have Brad come too. It was so much fun! The look on Anna's face when we she came to the door was PRICELESS! I so wish I would have had my camera on. She jumped & cried & laughed for about 5 minutes. Then she started putting all of Scott's "weird" behavior together. He worked so hard to make this happen. He had to make sure she would feel prepared for house guests for a week without giving anything away. He told her that people were coming to look at the apartment Monday morning (the day after Mother's day) and we showed up instead. I want to thank Scott for planning such an awesome week for his wife as well as for us!

We went to a Waterfall, I can't remember the name but it was beautiful!

Carson & Ben - Just Chillin'

This was at the fish hatchery. These are Sturgeons - one of them was as big as a shark and it freaked me out!

Anna & I took the boys to a pool - they had a big slide that I thought Carson would be scared of, but of course that is all he wanted to do the whole time.

Scott got a babysitter for the little monsters so we could enjoy an adult meal for Anna's big day.

Our day at the Zoo...

As you can tell, Carson was NOT happy this entire day, which made me sad because the Zoo was really neat. Carson was cutting a tooth and had a fever and was CRANKY!

I do have to say that I think this day tried our patience more than any we have had since becoming parents. Anna said Carson wasn't that bad but to us he was impossible! He didn't want to be in the stroller, be carried or walk so he ended up throwing himself on the ground in a tantrum most of the time. We felt bad because we knew he was just in pain. We may look happy, but trust me, I can't believe we even managed to pull off smiles in these pictures!

Just Strollin' through Vancouver...

Fortunately Carson was in much better spirits on this day. We just walked around enjoying the uncommonly sunny weather.

Anna actually got even more surprises all through the week. He sent me and her to get massages, (that was right after the zoo so I really enjoyed it!) , had a surprise BBQ with some really great friends that they have made and to top it all off my Dad, Denise and Ryan came on Thursday! She knew my dad was coming but Ryan & Denise were a total surprise. We drove to coast Thursday night and stayed at a hotel. We went to the beach and drove along the coast on Friday.

And this is how we all felt when we got home.

Thanks Case family for such a great trip!!!

TIMBER!!!

April Update

It is still pretty cold outside, especially for April, so here are some of our attempts to keep Carson entertained!

It did manage to warm up just enough to go to the park. Carson loved it, the problem is once he is outside he throws a huge tantrum when we try to bring him in.

So... I put our couches on Craig's list not thinking they would sell anytime soon. Well, we sold them in a couple of days and we were couchless for 2 weeks! I think the lawn chairs really made the room!

We went to the Aquarium again with some people from our ward. Carson loves it more every time we go.

This is Carson the day after the Aquarium, it was a nasty eye infection that lasted over a week! As you can see from the pictures, he didn't seem to mind at all! Although we did get a lot of looks when we went into public :)

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a great Easter! We went to my mom's for dinner. Carson wanted to be outside the whole time. As you can see he even tried the Doggy Door route!

Who Me???

We got to see Shelley - our adopted sister from next door!

Carson 18 Month Pics

I saw some really cute pictures of my friend's little boy on her blog about a week ago. I asked her who took them and she told me she had done them herself! These are the pictures she took of Carson and I think they turned out so good! As most of you know Brad is a huge Broncos fan so I decided to humor him:) Thanks Shea!

February Happenings!

This month flew by pretty fast for us. Carson is 18 months and went to nursery for the 1st time today. He seemed to like it, we were able to peek through the little window to check on him. At one point they had all the kids at the table and Carson was stealing crackers off of the other kids plates just to hoard them. He also really enjoyed the bubbles. He isn't saying too many words but he is jabbering all the time.

Let's see... we won a judgement against a contractor that owes us money, now we just have to collect it. We sold our jeep and got a 99' Rodeo for me & Carson to cruise around in. We made a trip up to Idaho and had a ton of fun. We stayed with Scott, Cassie & Kate's. Kate is about 6 months old and Carson loves her. He would hug her and give her kisses - he also had a facination with her ear as you can see in some of the pictures. We got to see Reid & Sue and Carson was so excited to play with Grandpa & Grammy!

Brad hurt his back about a week ago - we aren't sure what happened but we have seen the chiropractor a few times and it seems to be a little better. At least to the point that I don't have to put his pants, shoes, & socks on anymore! I don't know how he goes to work in all that pain.

Megan & Addison came from California for a cousin's wedding and we got to tend Addison. Carson also loved her, she is smaller that kate so we had to help him give her hugs & kisses. He always made sure she had her Binki whether she wanted it or not.

We got a pass to the Aquarium in Sandy. Carson was scarred of the fish the 1st time we went but on the second trip I couldn't keep him away from the shark tank!

Thats all the exiting news we have for February, we hope everyone is doing well and thanks for taking interest in our boring lives!
